Jollibee continues its tradition of making Christmas brighter with the magic of toys and books as its longest running Maaga ang Pasko headed down South to spread cheer to children and families in Naga City. On its 17th year, the project intensified its nationwide campaign as Jollibee employees, customers as well as Jolly Toy Scouts from partner schools, companies and families in this side of Bicol joined hands to touch the lives of even more children and families in need.

Some 600 students from Teodora Moscoso Elementary School and Balatas Elementary School felt the warmth and cheer of Christmas as they opened bags of toys and books and enjoyed langhap-sarap treats during the school caravan. Jollibee was also present and entertained the kids with a dance number, eliciting wider smiles form the children.

Teodora Moscoso Elementary School Principal Elvira Evangelista beamed at the positive effect the program had on the kids. “Maaga ang Pasko gave them a happier Christmas, but more importantly, it boosted their morale. Now that they know kind souls are looking after them, they will be inspired to work harder in school,” she shared.

This is also the first year that Jolly Toy Scout families in Naga were called to participate thru the Maaga ang Pasko gift giving activity and share their blessings with less fortunate families.

“There is no better way for families to bond this Christmas than to share their blessings and bring joy to those who need it most,” said Rose Caalam, Jollibee vice president and regional business unit head for South Luzon during the Family Gift Giving Activity at Jollibee’s branch in Naga Central.

Jollibee, through the DSWD, invited three families from the area — the Belale, Baynas and Camigla families as the special beneficiaries of gifts from generous family donors and partners. Apart from toys and books for the kids in their household and Jollibee gift certificates that they can use for their Noche Buena, these families received various gifts ranging from basket of groceries, clothes and other special items from volunteer families like the Francisco family, Jollibee Family Values Awardee from South Luzon, as well as the Lee and Tan families.

In addition, the beneficiary families were all provided with livelihood scholarships courtesy of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Naga.

“Jollibee hopes that more families will join the Maaga ang Pasko Family Gift Giving. Together, we can all make Christmas more meaningful,” said Caalam.

Similar Maaga ang Pasko school caravan and the family gift giving activities were held in Manila, Cebu, Pampanga and Cagayan de Oro.
