Hi there, I am a farm owner and want to expand my hog’s operation in Daraga. I was wondering if anybody knows where can I buy reasonable piglets. My plan is to buy 20 to 30 piglets every month for 6 months. And my price range is from Php 900 to 1100. Please if you know anyone who can help me, pass on my ad.
Thanks for your time.

I’m a rice farmer looking for PSBRc-52 seeds coz this variety is of good eating qlty, resistant to tungro infection, tolerant to saline soils and yields more than any inbred variety, tungro as of this time is of epidemic proportion. It is advisable to use resistant varieties. Spray quick knockdown insecticides like Bulldock, nurelle, hopcin, hopkill,or brodan 7 days from sowing & at weekly interval thereafter.Farmers should be encouraged to wait fellow late planting farmers to harvest then, they should plant the field in a community at synchrony so that within 1 month duration all have planted,
Hi there,
I just recently bought a land in Cebu where I’m planning to open up a cacao plantation. I have been looking around if where can I buy the best cacao in Philippines and basically I am also looking for a consultant where he/she can guide me through along the process when I initiate my business plan. I would really appreciate if someone can recommend somebody who knows how to grow cacao and get the best quality. You may email me directly to: (email:rheacheryll_sarmiento@yahoo.com)
Thank you very much.
Hi!
I’m also interested in investing in a cacao farm/plantation in the near future. As to my knowledge, our family has an agricultural land located in Naga also. as to the exact location, I have yet to confirm. But before anything, can you also refer me to someone that can guide me in the process of cacao farming? from land cultivation to planting to harvesting to fermenting and drying? You may also email me at alden.daveson.ong@gmail.com thank you!
I’m also interested on cacao farming, but I’m still on the research stage, my father had already planted more than 100 seeds in Guinobatan…can I visit your place to learn more on the cacao farming system?
Maybe there would be a chance this coming Holy week vacation.
Thanks and regards,
Lerma
Hello Alden,
Sorry for not replying to your comments earlier as I’m presently assigned abroad.
Anyways, I’m glad you are interested to take care of your cacao trees in Naga. Hope you will succeed in your endeavor to start a cacao plantation, implementing the required standard of farm husbandry and post-harvesting stages of processing to get the best dry cacao beans product. I always believe cacao is a silent farming-gold just waiting to be harvest especially in Bicol area because the land is generally fertile and though it is prone to bagyo, I noticed if inter-planted with other crops such as coconut and pili trees, they can cope with the typhoons, especially in rolling undulating hilly areas. In my personal observations, seems maybe the occasional typhoons may be part of the reason why pests are not too prevalent in cacao farms that I’ve visited in Carolina, Lupi and Bato areas, among others. I am glad to befriend some guys who are also interested in cacao farming such as Engr. Menandro of Naga City Agri Office. You might be interested to contact him for infos that you area looking for. Hopefully during my visit home we could meet and visit your farm.
Dear Lerma,
Sorry for the very late reply. Anyways if you are still interested, hopefully we could meet somtime later this year, maybe this coming Fiesta of Penafrancia.
So musta na your seeds, they should be about ready for field planting by now. If I may ask, where did you get those seeds? I would recommend you try get some accredited seeds as recomended by the USAID-ACDIVOCA program to ensure best results in production and better pest-resistant quality plants.

Hi Raymund,
I’m interested in cacao farming, but I’m not sure if cacao will thrive in our area. Our lot is located near the foot of Mt. Apo in Davao del Sur. The soil is fertile, but occasionally, the temperature gets very cold. Fogs drift by quite often, especially in the afternoon. Farmers in the area grow high value vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, and cabbage. Coffee also grows very well in our area. Do you think, cacao will grow there as well?
